The XX Exhibition is an all-female, debut art showcase that celebrates the vision, talent, and resilience of women in the creative industry. This maiden edition is a unique gathering of pioneering female artists, each bringing her distinct voice, perspective, and medium to inspire and connect with the community.
From paintings to sculptures, installations, and multimedia art, the XX Exhibition highlights a diversity of styles and themes, all centered around the female experience. It’s a platform for storytelling, empowerment, and the exploration of ideas that resonate deeply with modern audiences.
We are excited to announce the 3rd edition of the Awka Museum Foundation XX Exhibition, a unique platform dedicated exclusively to showcasing the talents of female artists.
This year’s theme, “Repairs,” invites you to explore the multifaceted concept of mending, healing, and restoring through your artistic expression.
What Does “Repairs” Mean?
“Repairs” encompasses many interpretations, from the literal to the symbolic. We encourage you to think about repairs in terms of the following:
Physical Restoration: Art that depicts the process of fixing or restoring objects, environments, or even the human body.
Emotional Healing: Works that convey the journey of emotional recovery and the mending of the heart and mind.
Social and Cultural Renewal: Pieces that reflect on societal changes, cultural revival, and community rebuilding.
Environmental Reparation: Art focusing on ecological restoration and the healing of our natural world.
This theme offers a rich tapestry of possibilities to express your unique perspective on what it means to repair and be repaired.
